Jack's Birthday

Jack had his birthday on the road on the North coast of Western Australia so it was decided he would get some of his presents when he returned to Melbourne.  Yesterday was the chosen time.  After great deliberation the choices were made.

Of course after such stressful deliberation, sustenance was required.  It may have been mentioned previously that Jack loves chips!

Dinner Time

The crew came over for dinner last night.  Granny likes to keep it simple so it was a lamb roast followed by apple pie or lemon meringue pie.  There were no complaints.

Dinner was followed by a viewing of the videos of the recent travels of the family which included lots of photos of the UK branch of the family.

Pat's Team Wins!

Pat's Team had a good day today and came away with a win.

It was a tussle all match with the scores very close so there was a little anxiety in the players and spectators.

Pat enjoyed the game and headed off to play with his mate Fletcher.

Jack Serenades Us

Jack brought his guitar over after school yesterday to show us how he is going with his lessons.

Boys Visit

Cooper and Lachlan spent the day with us yesterday while Mum did a bit of catching up.  It was a miserable day so we spent the whole day indoors.

Jack the AusKicker

Since getting back into town, Jack has started AusKick. He has the Essendon jumper and has taken on Jobe Watson's No.4.

Jack Elected to JSC

Jack returned from his long trip and was elected as his class representative on the Junior School Council.  We were invited along to see him presented with his badge.

Noel's Birthday

Over the weekend we went to visit Noel for his 70thy birthday.  It happened to be good weather for it as Cameron and Cathy were holding the party at their place in the entertaining area.

While it was a cold night, the heaters and the company kept everybody warm and it was a very successful evening.  We managed to catch up with all those people we had not seen for a few years and never get the opportunity to meet in normal circumstances.  Top night.

Rosie's Holiday

As Rosie's holiday draws to a conclusion, discussion centred around how it could be best represented on the Blog.  It is not a complex task. Most of her day is covered by two photos.

She either sleeps or wonders if someone would like to come and talk to her.  It's a tough life.

Wow - time flies.  One minute you are out on a family picnic and then you turn 41.  Still just as cute!

Production Declines

Well, it was an interesting morning but we are promised a miserable weekend.  And I had thought that with all my tender, loving care, the chooks would reward me with a bounteous supply of eggs. It turns out that the weather is much more an influence in their lives than I am.  With the colder weather, production is down again.

Dinner

We tried out a local restaurant on Wednesday.  Lindos was described as a "Family Restaurant" so that should have been a clue.  We rolled out of the place and spent a day recovering!

Production Increases

We are noticing that the production team seemed to have raised the output volumes and the quality of the product of late.  Perhaps the investment in Quality Training has paid off.

Then again, perhaps they are happier when it is not raining.

Restructure for Rosie

She is a dog with definite opinions.  One of those opinions is that one should never be too far from the back door (even in wet weather) to optimise chances of re-entry.  This has necessitated a restructure and she now waits under the landing.  In fact she seems to prefer this to her kennel.

Contented Chooks

It would appear that the chooks have adapted to the changes that have taken place in the Senior Management Team.  Production is still good and we are struggling to place the produce.

It's All Good

The old ranch is still the same.  I thought I would post a pic for interested parties.

We Visit the Garden!

Miracle of Miracles! It is the weekend and it is not raining.  As a consequence, Claire spent some time in the garden with her able assistant.

We Go Korean

We visited John and Enid on Thursday and had a meal in a tiny local Korean Restaurant.  Great atmosphere and wonderful meal but unfortunately there was a little extra something in there that did not agree with the CEO.  She is OK now.

Rosie's Routines

Rosie is settling in.  We have most of our routines sorted and she seems to know when she comes in and when she has to be out of the house.  She makes the occasional objection but as long as she spends the evenings and a few hours of the day inside, she forgives all.

Love the Mornings

It was NOT raining this morning when I went for my walk.  The weather must be improving.  Mind you, it still has a way to go.

Grandma

She has good days and bad days - there does not seem to be any pattern.  Today was a bad day as she had aches and pains after a couple of good days.  She remains bright, alert and interested in all that is going on.
