Come On Pa!

One of the problems confronting the grandchildren is the need to deal with a Pa and his camera.  As can be seen from this photo, Lachlan is a long suffering recipient of this attention.

Auskick

While Jack enjoyed Auskick with his friends -
Cooper saw it from a different angle.
When it was all over, there was general agreement that Granny's scones, jam and cream were worth the wait.

At Granny's House

After school, the boys liked different activities.  There was the Play-Doh

and TV
and ball practice.

Ready to Go

Mum and Dad are all dressed up ready for the wedding.
and the boys are making do with sandwiches!

Weekend at Granny's

While Lisa and Justin were spending time in sunny north Queensland (at Morgan's wedding), Granny and Pa were left in charge.  At the end of the first day we had made heavy demands on our energy reserves.  Apart from the usual school and kinder, Cooper and Jack both had swimming lessons.
Cooper was also involved in the kinder to school transition program.
Lachlan helped Granny out by taste testing cup cakes.  Even without icing they gained the seal of approval.

The Sleepover

Adam and Kate were having a night in Melbourne to celebrate Adam's Big 0.  Consequently, following an afternoon at home, the crew came to stay for a sleepover.
Before heading off to school, Granny's Family History folder had a thorough examination to check out the latest inclusions.
At School Assembly, Sophie was up the front reporting on the school chickens she had been looking after for the week.
Following her report, she handed over the keys to the next family.

Clean Up in Big Bush

After 3 years of unfettered growth, Brett decided that the time had come to contain the shrubbery.  A day of work and the pittosporums had been halved in height and much of the bamboo had been removed.  Next question - what to do with the pile of vegetation in the back yard.

Adam Hits An "0"

We had a celebration for a landmark in Adam's history.
The clan gathered for a traditional feast of Roast Lamb and Apple Rolly Polly.  The girls seemed quite enthusiastic about the event.
After a day of heavy physical work, the Main Man only just had enough breath left to extinguish the bonfire.

AusKick

Jack was off to AusKick and Lachlan seems to have decided that he too likes football.  He really enjoys playing with the ball and, for his age, is an amazing kick.
Lachlan made his father work hard while Jack practiced with the other AusKickers.

Moon - Another Look

The moon was bright tonight and I decided to take a look.  It does look a little the worse for wear.  We may need a new one soon.

Jets' Season Ends

It was a big ask today but we thought they might do it. The Jets played East Ringwood and unfortunately they were beaten by a team that was better on the day.  James played his heart out and was all over the ground.  He will sleep well tonight.
His efforts were rewarded with another Coach's Award for his work in the team that finished the season 3rd in the "A" Grade competition.  Things have really moved on in just a year!!

James Reaches High

The Vikings did not win today but James worked hard for the team reaching great heights.
He also showed his skills in moving the ball down the court - to the delight of his Dad and the Coach.
James always enjoys monstering the opposition.

Jack the AusKicker

Jack thoroughly enjoys his time at AusKick.  Despite the threats from the Weather Bureau, it was a beautiful morning.  The AusKickers initially had skills training, kicking straight, handball, tackles etc.
And then there was game training, passing, handball etc. Jack enjoyed it all.

School Aths

We dropped down to the Athletics track today to watch Pat and James in their heats.  The boys did well getting places.  After a bout of asthma in the 100m Pat got his lungs back under control and came home with a place in the 200m.
James was pushing hard for his place in the race.

Jets Do It Again!

James had a good day today.  The Jets played Mooroolbark who were above them on the ladder.  Mooroolbark scored in the first 10 minutes but from then on it was all about the Jets.  They won the game 69 to 9.
James was in it all day, he was shepherding and supporting all over the ground.  When I looked at the photos of the action of the day James was in a large proportion of them.
He had a good day and received one of the Coach's rewards for his effort in the game.
The Jets Runner had a good day too.
