Repairs Proceeding

After an operation it appears that the repair process can take some time.  This process is facilitated by a lot of (very boring) sitting around and resting.  So it was great to see the sun today and take the opportunity for a longer walk after the Bureau had predicted a dismal day.
The Operations Manager also managed some garden time.  Days like this lift the spirits.
UPDATE - I spoke too soon the bad weather has arrived!

Balcony Initiated

Adam, James, Pat and Sophie came over after school today and it was such a wonderful day we had to have afternoon tea on the Balcony.  The space worked well and we expect to spend many happy hours out there in future.

Hope Springs Eternal

What a beautiful day in the middle of Winter.  As I get myself back together I went out to pound the pavement and had a really good walk as may be gleaned from the selected photo.

Brett's Birthday Bash

It was a little late but things happen that way.  The (available) family attended for the formal celebration of Brett's increased age and wisdom. The distant family attended in spirit and financially to help provide the object of his heart's desire - a hedge trimmer. He is such a romantic!
The Chef de Maison produced Beef Wellington and Black Forest Cake to keep us all sustained.
We then retired to the sitting room for a variety of delicacies and the official cake.  No one appeared to leave hungry.  Happy Birthday Brett.

Venturing Out

Just over a week back home from hospital and I thought it was time to take a walk.  Turns out it was not quite as easy as it was previously but that will improve.  I decided to take my camera with me and was intrigued to see my favourite shot turned out to be one that could represent my current condition!

James Banner Run

James long term participation in Junior Football was recognised today as he entered the ground through a banner to mark his 50th game (even though this was probably closer to his 60th game)
The team set up a Guard of Honour as James (Jimmy) and Harry ran out to lead the team onto the field.

Back from Hospital

After a lot of carry on I finally had my Prostate removed (along with an aggressive cancer) earlier in the week.  Now back home and into the recovery process that is moving more smoothly than I had expected.

All Done

Our back balcony is now formally complete.  Our (very capable) Project Manager, Kresh, visited today to see the final product.  Now all we need is some good weather to test it out with a barbeque.

Change Coming?

The sun showed it's face during the morning walk this morning so perhaps there are some better times ahead after weeks of cold bleak weather.
I go so enthusiastic I cooked the evening meal on the new barbeque this evening.  It worked a treat!

Sunday Roast

It was a cold day and Brett and Cathy put on a wonderful Lamb Roast dinner.  Just the thing! We were also going to get some shots of Brett for the networking sites but a nice red got in the way of that.
We thought that if Mitchell grew too much more he will have trouble getting through doors.
Ebony had spent the afternoon at a Bounce party.  Following dinner Holly and Mitchell treated us to their latest works on the piano.  They are doing really well.

What Wonderful Weather!

While the rest of the family is enjoying sun, sand and surf, Rosie and Max are surviving weather that is slightly less clement.  In fact the view is decidedly bleak!  (It does rub it in when Mum sends home pictures of sunny beaches.)
However, the cooler weather keeps the appetite up.

Maintenance Run

While various family members are off on holidays, we did a quick maintenance run this morning.  It was also an excuse to try out the new rechargeable mower.  Lighter and quieter, it seems to do the job well for small areas.
A couple of family members that did not go on holidays were very pleased to see us.
