Grandparents' Day

Mitchell invited us to Grandparents' Day st his school.  Following a concert in the Auditorium (and some stunning performances by the Middle School Orchestra) Mitchell took us around the school to show us how he spent his day.  We then had a basket lunch in a crowded foyer with tables everywhere. The school had been inundated with acceptances.

It was a great lunch.  Unfortunately Mitchell had to go back to class earlier than I had anticipated so I got no photos of the Main Man!

Jack is starting to see success in his new basketball team.  A few goals in game makes for a couple of happy campers!

Mitchell In Action

We had an opportunity to watch Mitchell in action at tennis today as he was playing south of the equator.  In fact it was a home round so we also had a brief look at his school. The facilities looked fantastic from the outside and we hope to have a closer look on Tuesday for Grandparents Day

Sophie's Early Birthday Party

Sophie had to have her eighth birthday celebration early this year as Adam had to go to the US.  She decided on Inflatable World as the venue so her friends assembled there last Sunday.

There was a great deal of running and jumping on all the equipment.

So the girls were ready to eat when the food was laid out.

Sophie enjoyed the party and the haul of presents should keep her sustained until the next celebration with her family.

An Era Passes

It is with a twinge of regret that we are forced to announce that the old purple trailer that worked so hard in support of a number of family properties is no more.  It's last act was to bury itself as reinforcing in a concrete retaining wall with only it's little hitch showing to remind us of it's sacrifice.

Basketball - Sophie

As reported earlier, Sophie is now playing Basketball with the Vikings and we had a chance to see her in action today.

All the indications are that she is going to be a very handy player. She was always on the ball and ready to grab when the opportunity presented.  She defended well and was good at guarding the opposition.

In fact they were a lot stronger than the opposition and her friend Scarlett was very amused as she pointed out the 14 to 0 scoreline to Sophie late in the game.

The girls had a great game -

and they are happy with the performance of their Coach!

Basketball - Jack

We saw Jack play with his new Basketball team today.  He has played with them before but played football over the winter months so he moved back amongst some seasoned players.

They had a good game and Jack is playing with his mate Jack P seen in this photo.

Jack was certainly bringing his football skills back into the game.

They won fairly easily and Jack scored a great goal in the last second of the game. Why wouldn't you look pleased?

Visiting Lachlan's Kinder

Lachlan invited us to see his Kinder yesterday. He greeted us at the door and showed us all around the Kinder demonstrating how to use all the equipment.  He is a very coordinated young man.

Cooper's On The Ball

Cooper has had a tough week but he did enjoy himself at training tonight despite a ball hitting him full in the face.

He worked on ball skills and goal shooting.

He was the chaser in one of the games and managed to tag plenty of players.

 But he was tired and pleased to head home after the session.

Mitchell's Grand Final Day

Mitchell really enjoyed Grand Final Day yesterday.  He spent most of the day at a National Cubing Competition.  He has some amazing pieces in his collection - most of which are just plain confusing.
I think I like the 2x2 well enough but my preference is probably the 1x1 puzzle.  (Less taxing)
