Let's Have Fun & Scratch the Cars!

We decided that a little Four Wheel Driving was required to search out a camp spot close by. It has to be said that the available maps do not give a true indication of the state of the tracks.  We started up a moderate track that turned out steep and rutted and was eventually blocked by fallen trees necessitating a return down the mountain.
Another "road" was so overgrown it was difficult to push through but eventually we found some flat ground for lunch.
One of the locals needed assistance on some of the panels on his car.  The boys were pleased to help.
After a good lunch the venture was voted a success.

Basketball - Jack

It was a tough game for Jack this morning.  They were up against some solid opposition.  Jack scored a goal early and moved the ball well but they were well beaten on the day.

Basketball - Cooper

Cooper had a ball at his basketball skills training session on Thursday night.  They shot for goals and practiced moving with the ball -
practiced ball skills and had games. He was ready for his dinner after all that.

Drive Poured

Action Man Harry looked at the cut for the drive this morning and by 1.30 pm he and Stan had prepared the area and the truck had arrived to pour the concrete.
It was abundantly evident that this was not a job for amateurs as Harry and Stan went about shaping the contours of the drive.  They did allow the amateurs to fiddle round the edges.
The new entry makes access and parking the van much easier and it looks fantastic!

Patrick's Party - Bubble Soccer

For his eleventh birthday Patrick decided on a Bubble Soccer Party.  The boys assembled in a massive indoor sport centre and for a warm up they had a version of Brandy on a huge bounce mat.
They were then kitted out with Bubble Suits for their soccer game.
Some managed the suits better than others but the truth of the matter was that the boys were more interested in playing the man than playing the ball.
Once they were all sufficiently wasted, it was time for sustenance.
They all had a ball.

Reshaping the Entry

Work has begun on the new entry for Lisa's car and van.  The fence has been shortened, overhanging vegetation removed and Adam and Lisa have dug the dirt away so a wider entry can be made for the van.  A good morning's work!

Basketball - James

The Celtics had five players on today but they were up against a good team so they had their work cut out.  James scored 11 of their 21 points for the game and was all over the court.  He is fast and determined and played a great game.

Basketball - Sophie

Sophie and her team have moved up a division so they are up against some stronger opposition. They did not win but they gave a good account of themselves today against Ivanhoe.  Great to see the girls having a good time.

Sophie's Birthday Shop

Sophie and Granny headed for the shops this afternoon after school.  Sophie knew what she wanted so it was only a matter of finding the items.  Job done and an ice-cream was in order.
It appears that "Shopkins" is a name we need to know!
In fact, it was the only name Granny needed to know! Sophie was a happy shopper.

The Garden Guru

The reshaping of the back yard continues at a steady pace.  There is still some form work to do but the existing beds are being planted out.

Party Time

Patrick and Sophie had their combined family birthday party yesterday.  The sun God was smiling yet again.
It is always a time for a few extra family photos.

Netball - Ebony

We watched Ebony do her thing on the Netball Court today.  She seems to have grown a few centimetres since we saw her last (a week ago!) and is a very fast and agile player and goal shooter.
Ebony was off in the 2nd quarter (with a couple of others and the game was going to the opposition. Once back on court in the 3rd quarter the game swung back decicevely in favour of Ebony's team - all of her goals did the scoreline no harm at all!

Basketball - Jack

Jack and his team had a good day today with another great win.  Jack was making position and assisting plenty of goals as well as throwing one himself.
