Netball - Ebony

It was going to be a struggle for Ebony's team today as they were playing the ladder leaders.  They got pounded in the first half but in the second half much more of the play was at their end so we hope for better results in future as they improve.

Basketball - Patrick

Patrick is into a new season with a slightly changed team and a new Coach.  They finished on top last season but today they seem to have improved again.  They totally outgunned the opposition with great teamwork.
Patrick spent quality time up close and personal getting to know the opposition.
It was a good game to watch and a well deserved result.

Cooper's Gym

Cooper took his usual Gym class this week but he also introduced Lachlan to the joys of bouncy mats, tumbling and falling over!

Rhondda's 70th

Kim organised a picnic in the Botanic Gardens to celebrate Rhondda's birthday.  It was catered by the restaurant in the gardens with picnic rugs and hampers and enough food to keep an army for a week.  Great food and a great location made for a great occasion. Well done Kim and Happy Birthday Rhonnie.

Sydney Parks

Look at a map of Sydney and it is evident they have a lot of parks.  While visiting, the morning walks took us through a couple of local parks and along the Lane Cove River.  These parks are an amazing recreational space only 10k from the Sydney CBD.
Bush Turkeys are not in short supply. (Photo below not above!)

Visiting Sydney

We spent a great couple of days in Sydney visiting the Inchleys in their new home (before the renovations take place) instigated by Rhondda's impending 70th.  In preparation we got Opal Cards that gave access to all forms of public transport in the area for a maximum of $2.50 per day.  Great value for all the bus, train and ferry transport we could fit into a day!
We saw the harbour area.
The ferry took us to Paramatta for the day.  It is a great way to travel.

Ebony's Birthday

We have been watching Ebony develop as a netballer (and recently as an umpire) so we were pleased to see that this year her birthday money went toward a new netball.

Jets Go Down

Tough day at the office for James today.  The Jets were hammered from the start by a much stronger team (East Ringwood).  The boys did their best but the outcome was never in doubt.  The positive is that there is plenty of room for improvement.
Adam was Runner for the day.  It looks as though he has a firm grasp on the role for the season.
James likes a good tackle or three during the game.

Lego Queen

Holly has been working out how to display all her Lego.  Tonight she showed us her current arrangement that only shows some of her prodigious collection.

The Basketballers

We held the Saturday Basketball Post Mortems at our place today so when presented with a photo opportunity, we take it.

Basketball - James

James and his team had a real workout today. The opposition had a couple of talls (one must have been 196 cm) and they knew their way around the court.
The teams were neck and neck for most of the game and with about 7 seconds to go, the Saints threw a goal to take them one point ahead of the Celtics for the narrowest of wins.  I am sure the situation will be reversed at the next meeting!  An exciting game for the spectators.

Basketball - Sophie

It was our first opportunity to see Sophie with her new team for this season.  Adam was no longer coaching but many of the team were unchanged.
It was a bit of a nailbiter.  It took the girls a while to find their groove but they did get there in the end winning by a goal.

Ebony is Twelve

We had an opportunity to get Ebony's birthday photo yesterday for Granny's Gallery.  This is the selection.

James' Football Season Starts

The boys had been looking forward to the start of the new season.  They knew they were up against it playing Vermont and their fears were realised as their backline saw most of the action.  James played forward and as a consequence there were limited opportunities to get photos of him with the ball.
Despite the pasting they received, the fans were there to the end.

Cooper Tries Football

Cooper has decided to join a football team this year and has joined a few of his mates in the Mitcham Tigers.  He had his first match on Sunday.  It appears he is in a strong team as they belted the opposition.

Family Celebrations

With Cooper and Lachlan's birthdays being so close and occurring in the middle of the school holidays, we managed to gather on Saturday to celebrate,
It was a relaxed evening after the frantic activity of the Super Hero party.

Lachlan's Birthday Party

To celebrate Lachlan's birthday, all the Super Heros gathered at his place for a party.  Iron Man and his Mum had made all the arrangements.
The Heros battled to save cities but there was always time for a publicity shot.
It is always good to have older brothers if you are a Super Hero.  They can be used to help out in all the games.
Even Super Heros like birthday cakes (with a selfie on it!).
Of course all the presents are an added bonus. Lachlan had a great party.
