Home Alone

Rosie and Max are maintaining security while the family is keeping warm in Thailand. They are decidedly unimpressed with Coles brand dog food. There is the possibility of insurrection if they do not get their Goodos!

Takeover Bid

While Adam and Kate are sunning themselves up North, an invasion force is assembling around the house.

Football - Jack

Jack had a good day today at footbaall.  Not only did he get a goal, his team won and he was presented with a "Player of the Week" medal by the opposition for his performance. Congratulations Jack!

Fireplace Finalised!

Sure it had the gestation period of an elephant but good things are worth the wait. Lisa's fireplace is now in and operating.  So even while she is not camping she is still a happy camper.

Basketball - Jack

Jack had a good day on the court today.  Great defensive work, he got a goal and he was instrumental in a number of other goals.
The boys burst out of the blocks early and were being pegged back but they won by 4 points.

Winter Strikes

It is the coldest day of the year so far with snow in the nearby hills and even in Warburton.  Adam and Kate have escaped, Max and Rosie have put on their fur coats, and Max is warming up Granny with a tug-of-war.
Not exactly holiday weather for the school holidays,

Let There Be Light!

Good things come to those who wait - apparently. It has taken us some years to organise some lights for the Dining Room but it has finally happened.  Hogwarts is now complete!

Football - James

It has been a couple of weeks since we saw James playing football.  The U14 team had been moved to B Division and had been doing well but today was going to be the test as they played the top team.
Early on it looked even but once again the Jets ran out winners, more than doubling the score of the opposition who, up until now had been on top of the ladder.

Football - Jack

We did not see Jack play today but apparently it was a good day.  On top of a good day at Basketball yesterday where he scored 5 points, today he took a mark in front of the goals and put it through.

Sleepover

While Mum was in the city, Cooper and Lachlan came to spend the night with us.  Cooper helped with the preparation of some chains for an 80s dressup day at school.
Then we had their favourite Fish and Chip dinner.
An old book still seemed to hold its appeal at bedtime.

Changes Afoot

Jack and Cooper are starting to need their own desks so the visit to Ikea yesterday has resulted in some room transformations. No excuses now for late homework!

Winter Approaches

We drove up to Echuca to see Greg and stay with Noel and Pam. The return journey was almost entirely through fog until we reached the outskirts of Melbourne.

Basketball - James

James' Celtics have again been moved. This time up to the top of their Division. They still managed to comprehensively flog the opposition again.  They have been playing together for a while now and their teamwork is a joy to watch.
Occasionally you have to bend the rules!

Basketball - Pat

Pat and his team were up against some determined opposition today.  It was a good game but our boys pulled up a bit short of a win.
News of the day was that coach Anthony was breaking in new coach Harry (Fletcher's Dad).  Harry has big boots to fill but we are expecting great things from him!

Gym

Cooper and Lachlan have been enjoying the Gym.  Cooper has been going a little longer than Lachlan as these show.
The instructors keep the range of activities short and sharp to keep interest up.
Cooper had a bit of trouble holding Lachlan.
Meanwhile, Jack was chaneling his inner Pa with my glasses.  He didn't like them.

Sunday Dinner

It had been a strenuous afternoon of role playing - battles fought and energy expended.
It was now time for sustenance and the assembled forces and their entourages had worked up healthy appetites through their exertions.
