Parkinsons Walk

We went in to the City to walk in support of those with Parkinsons Disease.
Our particular connection of course is through Peter who is still assisting with the organisation and had a group walking with him.
And there is always a chance for a leisurely catchup with friends after the event.

Basketball - James

The Under 14 Celtics were not really troubled with their win over the Kangas today and James had a good day contributing 15 points to their score.

Jack Completes His Season

Jack played his final game of basketball for this season to an exciting 1 point win over a team that was higher on the ladder.
Although they did not make the finals, the win allowed them to finish the season on a high.

Basketball - Sophie

Sophie was on fire today with her team winning 11 to 4. More importantly Sophie scored 6 of the team's 11 points!
Kate was in training doing the scoring for Sophie's game.

Aths Success

We did not know that Jack was taking part in the Athletics but he came home with ribbons in the 200m and Hurdles. Great work!

James' Award

James has had a good year as far as Football is concerned.  He has become a player central to the success of his team, the Jets U14 took out the Premiership and today he received the Coach's Award for his work during the year.  Congratulations James!

Adam's Birthday

The years are ticking by and we gathered to celebrate another notch for Adam.
In anticipation of the massive apple harvest from the orchard this year, we presented him with a cider press. The pressure is now on to produce a first vintage that will be remembered through the ages!

Jets Under 14 Premiers!

It was a tumultuous start to the year for the Jets U14 with changes to their division etc, but things quickly settled into a winning routine. Thankfully that continued yesterday as they took out the Premiership with a 75 to 21 (11:9 to 2:9) thrashing of Norwood.
As usual, James ran virtually all day. He regularly made the clearances getting the ball out of the packs, he blocked the opposition players and effectively shepherded for his team as well as kicking a point.
It was a well deserved win for the team and it was great to see James presented with his Premiership Medal.
The boys were really ready to celebrate!

Palace Plantings Progress

We went to inspect the progress being made in the gardens starting to cover the Great Wall of Donvale.  Adam has been planting out Claire's carefully nurtured cuttings and they are beginning to make an impact.

Basketball - James

James and his team played yet another dominant game today.  The boys have been playing together for years and know each others every move so at this level, the opposition has no chance. At one stage they had nearly trippled the score of the opposition.

Basketball - Patrick

It has been a few weeks since we have seen Pat play as the team seemed to be always playing miles away in the early evening making life difficult. Today they played to a good win against a tough (and sizable) opposition and some strange umpiring - an occupational hazard at this level.

Basketball Sophie

We caught up with Sophie and her team on the court early this morning.  It has been a little while since seeing them and we were impressed at the improvements that can be seen as the girls gain experience. It was a tough match played to a draw with Sophie getting most of the points for her team.

Friday Night Freedom!

It was the end of the working week and the rules are relaxed to allow some game time in the evening. Lachlan was on a roll.
Cooper had some tense periods dealing with the forces of evil.
But eventually the forces of good prevailed.
