Jets in A Grade

The Jets won the Premiership last year and were promoted to A Grade but they currently have a couple of key players injured and are a bit undermanned so the games are a bit of a struggle. That was the story of the day.  They never gave up but were comprehensively flogged by East Ringwood.
East Ringwood had some excellent players and James founnd himself pitted against Goliath for some of the match.

Autumn Ramble

We enjoyed a wander through the East Gippsland countryside today as guests on the MG Car Club's Autumn Ramble.  The Club provides opportunities for members to take their cars out touring and then have a long lunch.  We enjoyed both components.  On this occasion the lunch was in Warragul.  We had not been there before but the trown deserves another look.

Jack's New Team

We saw Jack's first game with his new team tonight.  There are a couple of real newbies in the team so they were outclassed in the first grading game but Jack got 3 of their 4 goals and was instrumental in feeding the ball for the other goal.

Fisherman Jack

We had booked a fishing trip on the bay some weeks ago. Fortunately the weather on the day was perfect.  Jack was excited as it had been a couple of years since he had been out fishing and he was really looking forward to it.
We headed out into the bay on smooth water in a boat that had been built for the armed forces during World War 2.
The fishing was good! Jack caught plenty of fish including the largest mackerel the crew had seen.
It was a very successful adventure and to cap it off, Jack was presented with the award for the "Best Catch of the Day" for his mackerel.

Cooper and Lachlan's Birthdays

It was a little late as a result of the holiday period but the boys were not concerned.  More presents are always good!
Torvo kept the special guests amused.
The Klopp Challenge was issued resulting in an exciting "come from behind" victory by Patrick.
Then it was Cake Time.
Cooper and Lachlan's birthday celebrations seem to have been going for weeks but we think this finalises them.

Easter Egg Hunt 2017

Lisa hosted a family gathering to celebrate Lachlan and Cooper's birthdays and to make sure the family chocolate quota was maintained during easter. With so many hunting in a small space the Eggs didn't have a chance and we believe only one got away.
No one needed to be without chocolate that day.

Jenni's 50th Birthday

Although it is a few weeks away yet, Jenni will not be in Australia for her 50th so we had the celebration on Sunday.  It took place on the paddlesteamer "Emmylou" on the Murray River.
The on-board restaurant served us all lunch as the old steamer took us up and down the river from the Port of Echuca.
It could not have been a better day (or venue) for the event.

James' 15th Portrait

A day off school gave us a chance to take James' photo for his Gallery shot.

Cooper's 9th Portrait

The frame was filled today with this photo of Cooper for his 9th birthday.

Birthday Photo Bonanza

We managed to get birthday photos of Jack, Cooper and Lachlan today.  The Jury is still out as to their suitability for the gallery.  Lisa will be considering the verdict.

Ladies That Lunch

We caught up with Ebony for her Birthday Lunch today. Lunch out in Ringwood was great but the sun absconded and things got a little crisp!

Mitchell's Birthday Photo

A month or two late but we did get Mitchell's birthday photo for the gallery today.

Lachlan's Shopping Trip

Lachlan went shopping for his birthday presents from Granny and Pa today.  There were a couple of immediate purchases and a great deal of extended consideration.
It was all very energy sapping but, as usual, we could always count on KFC ro revive our reserves.
Then we headed home to review the acquisitions.

Lachlan's Seventh

To start proceedings for his seventh birthday, Lachlan had all his friends to his place to fill up on party food and perform the Cake Ceremony.  We had not realised just how loud a bunch of seven year olds can be!
Then everyone headed to Inflatable World to get into the action there.
They all ran themselves ragged in the place.
and they all got plenty of air time.
We headed to a chinese restaurant for dinner but I think much of the potentially available space had already been occupied by party food!

Cooper Hits the Shops

Cooper still had to collect his presents from Granny and Pa so after his party, a visit to the shops was in order to fill the gaps in his inventory.  The sustenance of choice for these ventures seems to be KFC and a sizeable portion was demolished in very short order.
Then we went home to put the purchases into action.
