Holly - Netball

It is an early start if you want to see Holly in action on the court! We made it to her game today to see her and the team keep their finals hopes alive.
The team (and their Coach) realize that if they do well in this season, they can move up a Division and consequently get out of bed later on a Saturday. However there did not seem to be any lack of energy on the court today. They did well.

Jack's Birthday Finalised

We went with Jack to "Balsamic" in Eastland today as the final chapter in his birthday celebrations.
The meal he was served was a monster. He strove valiantly but in the end he was defeated by the enormity of the exercise.
Jack was an engaging dinner companion over what proved to be a long lunch.

Basketball - Jack

We had the opportunity to see Jack play basketball today and saw a new vigour in his game.  He was in amongst the action grabbing the ball ..
and running the ball down the court.  He scored a number of goals and was instrumental in feeding the ball to others under the ring to score. He had a great game.

APPS Cross Country

Another proud grandparent day today as the four grandchildren at Antonio Park all competed in the Cross Country.  They all improved on their positions last year (and came in exhausted!)

Mother's Day Feast

Following the rigours of the Mother's Day Bowling Competition, it was agreed that extreme exertion required consequent extreme nourishment.
The food offerings may not have covered all the essential food groups but the carbohydrates and fats were totally nailed!

Mother's Day Bowling Championship

Competition was fierce when we had a family gathering to celebrate Mother's Day with a bowling challenge. A variety of styles were employed on the day, some samples are presented here for the purposes of education and enlightenment.

Football - James

James and the Jets are having a tough season in A Grade - I guess it could be called "character building".  Although they did not give up, the boys were outclassed by Vermont today.

Methinks Winter is Approaching

Crisper and colder out on the morning walks these days and it is still Autumn.

Basketball - Sophie on the Attack

We had our first look at Sophie's new team today.  The girls came up against a solid opposition and although they did not win, they clearly held Bulleen in check.  Opposition parents were complaining that their girls looked as though they had "lost the plot".  Perhaps the skill and aggression of Sophie's team may have contributed!
Certainly Sophie threw herself into the contest with only a little injury time on the sidelines before she was on the job again.  They were a good team to watch.

Basketball - Patrick

Patrick is in a new team this season and we saw them play tonight.  They have been taking a bit of a beating in B Grade but tonight was their first game in C Grade and the teams were better matched.
The stadium has poor light at the best of times so clean photos at night is always going to be a problem.  However we caught some of Pat's action on the court.

Jack's Birthday Dinner (Part 2)

The family gathered to mark Jack's birthday last night. Lisa cooked up a storm to feed the assembled multitudes.
Adam even worked up a new cake recipe for the occasion and, as can be seen, there was very little left at the end of the evening (a new career path?)
The only one to record a "Less Than Satisfactory" rating was Torvo who happened to be confined to quarters at the time.
With the completion of the Cake Ceremony, Jack has officially completed his eleventh year and now moves on to new adventures.

Jack's Birthday Dinner (Part 1)

This year, Jack's birthday fell on a Friday so there was school and Basketball to contend with.  He came straight from his match to dinner at Sophia's. The food is good although you do not go there for fine dining.  On the other hand if quantity is important - this is THE place!
Of course Jack had his best mate Clay and his family along for the occasion.
After a large meal, Jack and Clay decided that an ice cream might go down well.
Needless to say they were both defeated by the mountainous desert.
