School Starts

The holiday period is now a rapidly fading memory as school starts up for the year.  Jack, Cooper and Lachlan do not seem too displeased.

Felix Comes to Play

While his Agent and Manager (Patrick) takes a short break down at the beach, Felix thought he would come over to keep Granny and Pa company.  He has been exploring new territory and yelling at the neighbourhood parrots in the morning.

  His special party trick is to grab my neck hairs and pull them out one by one!

While the caretaker is away, the new pond has to be maintained.  It is looking an absolute picture of health with the new plants and the clear water.

Code Camp

Cooper has been looking forward to this day for a while.  He signed up to Code Camp before the holidays started and the day has finally arrived when he starts to learn coding for the computer.  Some of his friends have done it and have started making their own games.  Sounds good to Cooper.

Planning Day

With not a lot on today we had the opportunity to do some serious planning for the new house - checking and editing the drafts provided by the designers.

 Let's face it, TV is hardly riveting at this time of the year with SBS showing 17 hours of the
Ghan travelling from Adelaide to Darwin!

Sophie's New Bike

Sophie now has a new bike to suit her needs.  She chose a 21 speed Mongoose the bike that her father coveted many years ago.

Hot Summer Night

The temperature was over 40 degrees. Camping had been called off as a result so the only real option was the pool.

Cooper showed us his new Iguana Eyes goggles. The less energetic sat in the shade and observed.

 After a great communal dinner, the cool change arrived and the temperature dropped but the pool remained inviting until late.

Park Run

Over the holiday period, the basketball has stopped and there is a tendency to overindulge.

Sophie is keeping Adam fit by challenging him in the Park Run.

Yarra Glen

While the Inchleys were here, the opportunity arose to catch up with Kaye and Ian so we met up at the Yarra Glen Pub.  This place is becoming a favourite.  The meals were sensational!

Lunch at Metung

We took a boat to tour the Lakes area and be dropped us at Metung for a long lunch.  We were then delivered back to Lakes Entrance after a very lazy day.

The Lakes Area

We visited the Nyerimilang Heritage Park to see how the pioneers of the area lived their lives.  Strangely enough it was a familiar story.  If you had no money, life was tough.  The manager of the Nyerimilang Estate lived in primitive conditions and eventually took his own life.

Whereas the owners of the estate lived in luxury.

New Year at Lakes Entrance

New Year was upon us and we set up in Lakes Entrance for the event in some apartments on the shoreline.

The restaurant for the evening was just down the street.  All very convenient!

 Following the dinner we wandered across the road to watch the fireworks.
