Tradition Continues

With the Inchleys being in Melbourne, we took the opportunity to have a Fish and Chips night with the Russells and Raymonds.
Ubfortunately the new house was not quite ready for inspection so we saw the outside only.
Pete rode the stairs using the Russells new Chair lift before the traditional meal.

Awards Night

The final act of the Football Season was played out last night with the Awards Night.  James and his mates all seem to scrub up really well!

Holly Turns Twelve

We caught up with Holly for her birthday yesterday.  She had already had a celebration with her friends and was about to sit down to her favourite dinner and presents.  There was only one downside apparently and that was it was still a schoolday.  She did not really seem too concerned about it.
And the sweeteners were waiting on top of the piano!

Birthday Dinner

Adam has been reminded of his great age with a number of celebrations, the latest being last night when we visited "Sapporo".  It is a local Japanese restaurant and served as preparation for our upcoming trips to Japan.
The big news of the evening was that Sophie has had her ears pierced early so they will not interfere with the swimming season.

Boom!

Jack had the opportunity to see the Aussie Boomers beat the American Allstars at Marvel Stadium.  Despite the drama over the poor views from the expensive seats, they had a good view of the match.
On the way home they dropped in at the Old School to watch Mark get rolled in his hockey match.
Cooper and Lachlan took the Maccas option as their preference.

Netball - Holly

Rain had been threatened all week but Holly managed to arrange her game on a fine sunny morning.  There was a strong wind that upset the goal shooters but it was better than rain.
The Cheer Squad was on hand to give the team a boost.

Lisa Returns

While Lisa was in Vietnam, Mark was busy finding a second car.  He came up with a very nice little BMW fixer upper with a very nice little price.  It looks like it can be brought back to life without spending too much.
While in Vietnam, Lisa was busy getting tailor made clothes and rounding out the boys wardrobes.

Moving On

As things are being finished off in the new house we are getting closer to moving day.  So the new drive can be installed we had to prepare a pad for the storage of the van.
We are also setting up parking space for a second car for Unit 2
Nothing was said but I have a suspicion the toilet will be pleased to see us go.

Leaping Lachy

This term, Lachlan has taken on trampolining as his sport.  I watched him in action last night and have to say he has come a long way since I last saw him at Bounce.  He now has more fine control and gets around the arena with great ease.
He spent about 90 minutes bouncing around the arena and once off, all he could think about was his dinner!

Venturing to Vietnam

Lisa and Julia have taken a few days to stay in Vietnam at Hoi An.  She already has a number of cooking classes under her belt so we are looking forward to the new cuisine that will result.
She has also taken to gardening so changes are in the wind.

James Exits the Juniors

James played his final game of junior football today as Mitcham played Upper Ferntree Gully.  Gully proved too strong so the season is over for the Tigers.  Next year the boys enter the Seniors.
James played his usual game using his speed and agility

James finishes the season playing with friends he has been with for many years particularly Harry Magner who has played with James since they first started at Donvale.

Jack's Team Rises

Jack's team were playing the top team this week.  There were a number of dire predictions about a potential thumping but the boys rose to the occasion.
They did not win but were in no way disgraced as they played hard right to the end.  Jack did his bit with a number of great goals.

Cooper Fires Up

Cooper has been working on his fitness of late with regular gym sessions. It certainly showed in his game today as he threw about 7 goals including a number of three pointers, all leading to a comprehensive victory for his team.
He worked hard and was just about done at the end of the game.  A great result.

Window Werx

Mark has been busy installing a new bay window to improve insulation and provide extra room and storage.  There is still work to do but the final form is taking shape.

Our Gecko from the Coffs Harbour Market arrived in good health today.  He is looking forward to keeping our walls clear of bugs.

Floors Polished

The weather was appalling last week so as far as the build was concerned, it was timely. The main event scheduled was floor polishing and that is now complete.  We are very happy with the results.

Tigers Go Down Fighting

The Mitcham Tigers were expected to be given a bit of a lesson by Rowville today, however the boys came out fighting against the stronger team and held them well early.  The poor condition of the wet boggy ground did not help either team and made the game a test of strength for the larger players.
Granny always likes to keep an eye on proceedings.
