The New Family Member

It was an exciting day today as Mitchell was picking up his new car.  We were honoured to have a personalised tour of the new conveyance.

Mitchell gave us a rundown of the mechanical specifications -
before the conducted tour of the interior.
It was a very impressive car that will suit Mitchell very well.

Patrick's Final Event

Patrick has finally completed his secondary schooling with a Valedictory Dinner to mark his transition to the next chapter of his life.

Nelson Cousins

Claire had her regular catch-up with her cousins (daughters of her mother's siblings).  Luckily for Claire she lives in the most central location. Valerie came up from Yinnar in Gippsland and Glenda came down from Cohuna for lunch in Melbourne.

Kervin Descendants

A few of the Kervin cousins had expressed an interest in a meet-up so the increasingly dispersed family could meet with those from other branches of the tree.  The venue was the Echuca Hotel so it made a long day for the Melbourne contingent.

Patrick's Portrait

Patrick came over this afternoon (using his newly acquired Drivers Licence)  so we could get a new entry for Granny's Gallery for his eighteenth birthday.

Birthday Celebration - Pat and Sophie

The annual Reid and Altis celebration for Pat and Sophie's birthdays was held on Sunday despite the dire threats of storms and pestilence from the Bureau.  It turned out to be a good day for the family catchup with the rain staying away.

The new outdoor area worked perfectly as a relaxed conversation space.
It was another reminder that the word 'grandchildren' is getting less and less appropriate!
Thanks to Adam and Kate for another easy and relaxed opportunity to keep in touch with family and friends.

Sophie Turns Fifteen

The weather was on side for Sophie's birthday and we were able to watch Sophie and Holly play together in their school netball team. Not a great result as half the team was made up of very young fill-ins.  But strength grows from adversity!  The family celebration was to be at her favourite Japanese Restaurant.

Melbourne Museum

Today we decided to have a look at the Triceratops in the Melbourne Museum for ourselves.

Adjacent to the Museum we found the Grand Old Lady of Melbourne, and behind her was the Exhibition Building that is undergoing ongoing refurbishment.
The Triceratops display did not disappoint.  Well laid out with animations and projections giving an idea of the environment at the time the animal lived.

Heritage Rose

When we purchased Luckie St over 30 years ago there was a vigorous climbing rose in the front garden.  During redevelopment, we dug it out and potted it.  It is now back in the garden and (finally) showing its colours.
