School Photos

Although they were taken a little while ago we saw Jack, Cooper and Lachlan's school photos today.  Jack - Year 11

Cooper - Year 9
Lachlan - Year 7

Pat at IGA

When taking on the promotions portfolio at the local IGA store Pat likes the simple stuff.  Flogging chocolate should not be too much trouble!

Anniversary

It is a year since Lisa and Mark were married.  They called in for morning tea before heading back to Vue on Halcyon for lunch.  In weather terms, it is just as well the wedding was last year!

Back in the Reserves

James played in the Reserves today against Old Paradians.  They were not disgraced but were outgunned.  Whitefriars only had two on the bench and James was on the ball most of the day so sleeping will not be an issue for him tonight!

Football in the Dark

Sophie had her second last game of the season tonight after school at Ferndale Park where I spent many happy hours as a primary school kid!  By the time the game finished it was nearly dark.

Kate's Birthday Dinner

We had all had trouble finding an appropriate time but last night was the night we finally got around to Kate's birthday dinner.  The chosen location was Sopporo Japanese Restaurant in Mitcham that always does a good meal.

The place has good food and a quiet friendly ambiance.

Indomitable Whitefriars

It was one of those wet (almost) winter, football days.  Whitefriars was on their oval with nearly as many ducks!

The boys (sorry, men) were hardly challenged with a 117 to 13 win and James managed to kick 2 goals 2 points.

Mullauna Concert

Mullauna presented its first concert for the year now that the Year 7 students have had time to work with their instruments.  Cooper is an old hand but this was Lachlan's first concert.

The evening went very well and was more streamlined than when Cooper started.  Clearly the program is developing fast.  This year over half the Year 7 intake are involved.
The support team had a good night!

Working Gear

Lisa and Julia model their working attire for field trips for the organisation.

Slab Dreaming

Preparation of the slab for the Lake House has been delayed by continuing weather events but it is nearly ready for the pour.

Meanwhile the blocks for the retaining walls have been stored ready for installation after the slab is complete.

Mother's Day

Melbourne turned on the perfect day for Mother's Day.  Days like this had been few and far between recently.   Adam and Kate walked the dogs over and Pat and James called in.

Later in the day, Brett, Cathy and Mitchell walked over for an afternoon tea.  It was great to see them all and made for the perfect day.

Pre Mother's Day

Lisa and the boys are heading for Eildon tomorrow to help prepare the reinforcing for the new slab. Mark is already there. So we had a pre Mother's Day meal at the local "Jade Village" Chinese restaurant.

Football in the Wilderness

We set the alarms and packed provisions in order to see James play in the wilds of Elsternwick.  He was in the 3rds this week and they had another victory over the locals.

Continuing Education

James and Angel took time to further their education in the wineries of South Australia.  The environment made up for the rigors of the course work.

They had the task of developing their own blend of red using Shiraz, Grenache and Motaro (a wine I had not heard about but has been in Australia since 1832).  It was demanding work but their satisfaction is evident!

Cooper's Basketball

Cooper's team was up against it last night as they only had 5 players.  They held the opposition in the first half but stamina became an issue in the second half as the other team (with 3 on the bench) drew away.

Jack's Birthday Dinner

Jack had his birthday dinner at one of the more interesting eateries we have visited.  Fonzie's Diner is done up in the livery of the 50s and 60s with a Jukebox playing music of the era.

The meal was also of the era with monster burgers and lots of (excellent) chips.
The meal was so big that when we got back to base, even a small portion of birthday cake was a challenge.

The Athleticians

Lachlan and Cooper decided to take part in the Athletics competition at the school.  They came home with a bunch of ribbons between them!
