Finally Made It

We have made it to Las Vegas. After being awake for about 40 hrs with only brief naps, we we both feeling very odd. We had to wait another couple of hours in the hotel lobby for the room to be ready and the result is that the CEO was immediately off to the races!  So I had time for a quick note to the Blog.

We Just Love Airports

The best thing about airports is the waiting around getting ready to board.

Mother's Day Auskick

It has been a while since we have seen Jack and Cooper at Auskick so today we made it.  We watched the boys do a few of their drills. Cooper liked running with the ball and practicing his crash tackles.
Jack also liked the skill development and practicing his marks; here he is assisted by one of the Hawthorn recruits.
But the big event was the Mother's Day grudge match between the Auskickers and the Mums.  As Mum was organising a kinder event, Granny became deputy Mum.
Granny worked hard in the attack and one of the highlights was where Jack met his Granny in the ballup.
The competition got a little intense however we think the Auskickers won and after the match there were no hard feelings.
All the boys took home a present for Mum on her special day.

School Assembly

Sophie invited us to attend the School Assembly today as she and her Aerobics Team were in front of an audience for the first time.  You could not fail to be moved watching the Preppys putting on such an earnest performance.
Jack was also up on stage as one of the students who had a birthday during the week.

Jack's Birthday - Family Party

Jack has had a good birthday.  The party with his friends was a great success and his Pop had taken him shopping.  See if you can guess the theme here.
Tonight the family had a chance to celebrate with him.
He should have no trouble sleeping tonight.  Happy seventh birthday Jack!

Jack's Birthday Party

Jack had his friends help him celebrate his birthday today. On arrival, all the Jedi were issued with a Light Sabre.
The Light Sabres proved to be effective weapons when subduing Darth Vader and when attacking the Death Star
After the battles, there proved to be sufficient energy in the system to extinguish the Great Birthday Inferno.
And the tired Jedi were serenaded at the end of an exhausting mission.

Jets Down in Mooroolbark

The Jets are having a bit of trouble getting it all together and today was not a great day.  They were beaten by Mooroolbark.  There were patches where we thought that there was going to be a turnaround but it was not to be.  There is always next week.
James had a good day with shepherds and tackles but the ball did not come near him often enough for him to strut his stuff.
Adam manged to pull a calf muscle while performing his tasks as Runner.  He converted to a Walker.

James in a Cliffhanger

James played out at Templestowe today.  The opposition came out with guns blazing early. They had some good players and their balls were dropping through the ring whereas ours were just missing.
James played a great defensive game grabbing the ball and monstering the opposition.
However our attack was found to be wanting on more than one occasion so we were behind for almost the entire match.  The boys rallied in the last minutes of play and managed to win by a single point!  Granny has postponed her visit to the heart specialist.

Pat Under Pressure

Patrick's team has had a few big wins of late and as a consequence, they were bumped up 2 divisions this week. So the boys had a much tougher task this week.
The change in the competition gave the gallery plenty to discuss.
The boys were not able to overcome the competition this week.  Maybe next time.
