Rural Recreation

The rain seems to have finally cleared and we woke to see a little sun.  The Park lays on a morning pancake breakfast so the boys filled up.
Then we took off to the cinema in the middle of Ballarat to see "The Lego Movie".
The cinema was in good condition but you can tell it is an historic town by having a look at the urinals!

Ballarat

It was miserable in Melbourne and Ballarat was not going to be any worse so we hitched up the vans for a weekend escape.
We found the park on the outskirts and set up the vans.
The major attraction was that the park had a heated pool and a HOT tub.  After an hour or two a number of very hungry hippos emerged.  Luckily we had visited the local supermarket and on the off chance, had purchased a variety of hot cross buns (chocolate, caramel and sticky date, plain)  They did not last long after the kids emerged from the pool.
The boys liked watching a huge TV while in the pool.
The Richmond v Collingwood match was not going well for the Tigers supporters so Jack had an early night.

Lachlan Goes Shopping

We got to the shops early today to search out the presents Lachlan was going to buy for his birthday.  There seems to be a trend developing here.  He found an "Angry Birds" game he wanted and then wanted to go home.  On the way out he found some more Angry Birds but it was time to leave after that.
Home is good!!  (Back to Man Shopper Paradise.)

Lachlan's Birthday

Lachlan thought it would be nice to have some chips for his birthday so it was decided that a visit to "the Local" was in order.  The chicken nuggets and chips were consumed with relish.
The attempt to collect some furry balls was not successful.
but he blew out all the candles at once (a first?)
Top present for the day was the Ninja Turtle suit.

Cooper Goes Shopping

We hit the shops for Cooper's birthday today. We had a look around one store, he quickly selected the (few) things he wanted and then wanted out of there!  He is a real man shopper.
In a real concession to the Shopping Centre, he did decide that a little nourishment would not go astray.
He had plenty of money left over however he was not interested in more shopping.  It was time to go home and perhaps shop another day.

Jets meet East Ringwood

East Ringwood are a strong team and the Jets meeting with them today was not pretty.  It would appear that the Jets have some work to do to get over this team.  James played well but the team as a whole were simply outclassed by the very strong opposition.

Cooper Turns 6 - Part 2

Cooper invited his friends to "Ace Space" to celebrate his birthday.  The perfect location for Cooper, you could run, jump, climb, slide and roll over everything.  The kids loved it.
The energy they expended did their appetites no harm at all.

Cooper Turns 6 - Part 1

For his family party Cooper wanted Fish and Chips and then wanted to watch "The Croods" so that is what happened.  He demonstrated his new remote controlled car.
And a man is always happy with a new tool for his birthday!
Cooper had a good day.

Suburban Dinosaur

This morning I managed to photograph one of the few remaining members of its species.  I am not sure if the decline in numbers can be attributed to Climate Change.

Changing Season

Finally! The mornings are getting darker and cooler.
