Cooper - Basketball

At training last night, Cooper practiced a series of new skills with the ball.  They had to move the ball around their legs;
and bounce two balls at once;
and disrupt other player's ball bouncing while continuing to bounce your own.

Park Visit

Lachlan came to play yesterday.  Amongst other activities, he wanted to visit the park to throw a frisbee.  He proved adept at the task.
There was a bit of climbing,
and a bit of pole dancing.

Cathy's Birthday

It took a while but we got together to celebrate Cathy's birthday tonight.
There was plenty to eat and the younger members of the family spent a lot of time racing round the back yard to work it off.
We managed to comply with the blue theme and strict dress code for the evening's festivities,

Big Day of Basketball

Three games in sequence allowed us to see Patrick, Sophie and James play today.  Patrick had not been well and was having a tough time. To make matters worse, they were playing a team of giants.  They didn't win but that's how you learn the tricks of the trade.
Sophie's team has been doing so well they went up another division this week and they met a team with similar skills.  The opposition scored one goal earlier and Sophie's team equalised to draw the game.  She is demonstrating real tenacity as a player.
James had a tough day today as they were down to 5 players through injury and they had to call in a mate to give them some relief on the bench.  The opposition had a full bench and plenty of talls but the boys never gave up.

Now There's a Happy Camper!

I have just made a connector from the van battery to an electric jockey wheel.  This means I can drive the van around with the touch of a (forwards or backwards) button on the steering arm.  Getting in and out is now less of a problem.

Cooper Bags a Basket

Cooper went really well at Basketball Training tonight.  They practiced a full range of skills and Cooper did well at all of them.  There were basic ball handling skills and throwing baskets;
they tested his throwing accuracy and he was better than most;
and there were speed and agility games and his group won.
He had a good night!

Sophie's Eighth Birthday

Sophie turned eight today. Here she is after school wearing her new training clothes she received as birthday presents. She loves taking shots at the basketball ring after dinner and the clothes must be doing a good job because she scored 24 goals to her Mum's 8 goals.

She also received a Girls Lego Car, a Shopkins Back Pack, a Whimpy Kid book and a basketball.  She has had a good day.

New Premises

As the business changes, there are new demands and so a new location was required for Adam and Trav.  Today we had the grand tour of the new (monster) facility.
There is an impressive front entry and a huge warehousing/storage area with multiple offices along the front.
Lisa spent a little time getting comfortable in her new office.

Grandparents' Day

Mitchell invited us to Grandparents' Day st his school.  Following a concert in the Auditorium (and some stunning performances by the Middle School Orchestra) Mitchell took us around the school to show us how he spent his day.  We then had a basket lunch in a crowded foyer with tables everywhere. The school had been inundated with acceptances.
It was a great lunch.  Unfortunately Mitchell had to go back to class earlier than I had anticipated so I got no photos of the Main Man!

Proud Mum

Jack is starting to see success in his new basketball team.  A few goals in game makes for a couple of happy campers!
