Lisa's Birthday Bash at Bellarine

Lisa had a (preemptive) 40th birthday celebration over the weekend at Bellarine Holiday Park.  It was a very family friendly park with plenty for all the children to do and room for the adults to have their celebration.

The promised savage weather did not eventuate and there was plenty to eat and drink.

So all the customers were happy!

Birthday Purchases

Pat and Sophie had a little extra cash after their birthdays so a visit to the shops was in order.  Sophie took Granny to Smiggle to round out her collections,

and Pat decided to get the guitar he had been eyeing off in the shop.

The Birthday Present Dilemma

Having had his birthday, Patrick is now reviewing options for his present. We toured stores today to check out electric guitars which currently sit on top of the wish list. To our surprise, the selection is not a simple task with the variety of options on offer.

Birthday Celebrations

The family had the opportunity to celebrate Patrick and Sophie's birthdays yesterday. The weather was kind for a relaxed family party.

Basketball - Sophie

With travel and other distractions it has been a while since we have been able to see Sophie play Basketball. The team has been going well and has been regraded a number of times.  They met a strong opposition today so the match was a real tussle.

Although they lost by a few points it was an excellent game and Sophie and Scarlett came off the court happy.

It took a minute or two for Granny to get over the excitement of the match, but she was happy too.

Carport Development

We worked on the Carport today. A little more shadecloth was added, pots moved and new pots installed.  It is starting to look a little more civilised (after 40 years or so!)

Lachlan Attacked by Floor!

Lachlan landed well but he was leading with his forehead rather than his feet.  The result was a little recuperation time with Granny and Pa.

Helen's Hitched

Our neighbour Helen has been working towards her wedding for some time and yesterday was the big day. All the planning resulted in a massive, happy occasion with a full church and refreshments in adjoining rooms to follow.  Our best wishes go with Helen and Victor.

To the Neck of Lake Eyre

Our destination today was the Neck, a relatively narrow channel that links Lake Eyre North to Lake Eyre South.

The surprise was the abundance of animal tracks and  wildflowers in the area.

Unfortunately, the most abundant wildlife were the flies.

The Lake is massive with its own desolate beauty

and there are reminders of the dangers in that environment.
