Season Finale

Jack had his last football game of the season today and it was a freezing wet miserable morning to keep the boys spirits up.
Jack worked at it but the major adversary was the wet muddy and boggy ground that made play a real slog.

Seaside Sojourn

A wander around the harbour today saw us visiting the Jetty and the Yacht Club.  The jetty is enormous, a reminder of times when the coastal shipping trade was much more important than it is today.
The wind just about blew us off the end of the pier. The Air Force came over to check us out.
The place is home to a number of very good restaurants and the Yacht Club was no exception.

Lazing Around Coffs

Coffs Harbour is a very easy place to wander around and do very little.  The beach is inviting and the locals are friendly.
The Regional Botanic Gardens is well maintained and developing new attractions.  Their Kiosk is about due for an upgrade.
They are developing a range of style gardens and attractions around the extensive grounds bounded by a small river.

Around Coffs

Coffs Harbour accommodates a significant fleet of small boats and is protected by Mutton Bird Island.  It is only a short walk out to the island and gives views along the coast.  It is a favourite location for whale watching.

Dorrigo

The area around Coffs Harbour has plenty of interest for the visitors.  We went up to Dorrigo to the National Park and to see the town.  Interestingly, we arrived on a Bank Holiday.  We did not know those things still existed.  The views over the valley were spectacular.
The beautiful old pub produced a great lunch for us.

Heading For The Sun

Melbourne has been a little miserable of late so a short break in Coffs Harbour was an attractive proposition.
First order of business was the Sunday Market
We were rather taken with a Gecko we found crawling up a wall.  He agreed to come down to Melbourne and check for bugs on the walls or our new house.
The town has a boardwalk out to the harbour entrance
So we got in a little exercise before the barbeque lunch.

Mudfest

On Sundays, James likes playing in the mud with his friends. No exception this week.

Basketball With Sophie

Sophie and her team were up against a strong team today.  More accurately they were up against a very strong player with team support. Things looked grim early but the girls rallied and came back strongly toward the end of the game. Sophie, as usual, worked hard the whole game.

Community Centre Growing Apace

The old Nunawading Primary School site continues its rapid transformation as the Community Centre rises from the extensive ground works. Every week or so significant progress can be seen.

Minimising Mud

Work commenced on the driveway and the entry to the house.  It will be a great day when we can enter the house without a couple of centimetres of mud sticking to our shoes.
The drive is quite a complicated surface with the contouring requirements to accommodate drains and sewer connections so the work took a couple of days.
The initial stage was the coloured concrete leading into the property that kicked off early in the morning
This morning the road entry was completed together with the porch.
