James On the Job

James has started his work as an apprentice electrician.  He is being worked hard but is enjoying the job.  The only downside is that the lock down has prevented him getting his license.  There does seem to be some hope on that horizon with a special exemption.

Nineteenth Anniversary

Adam and Kate celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in splendid isolation last night. To mark the occasion, Patrick and Sophie cooked dinner and dessert and James operated the back room cleanup after a full day of work.  Patrick prepared a prawn and chorizo paella which was delicious. Sophie chose to cook a passion fruit baked custard. It was also delicious!

Isolation Downsides

It's a consequence of isolating.  You ordered your new Oodie weeks ago online.  When it arrives, your Dad is home and has to have first try!

Cooper's Birthday At Home

The new normal for the next few months is that we will be doing everything at home.  Cooper had to stay in for his birthday.  So he celebrated with a day of family activity.

Cooper Turns Twelve

The family dinner for Cooper's twelfth birthday was very different from the usual.  Pandemic enforced isolation meant we all had to meet remotely while we had our dinner.  It is not a perfect solution but way better than having nothing.

 At least we could see and hear each other even if I could not get access to Sophie's Cinnamon Rolls or Cooper's Brownies.

 Trying to get Cooper's birthday photo through the conferencing software is really not going to cut it! Granny needs higher quality for her Gallery.

Autumn On Its Way

The morning walk is now taking on the distinct flavour and colour of autumn.

Isolation Action

As external options are limited, Jack, Cooper and Lachlan are keeping busy at home.  Jack has organised his own activity schedule, Cooper has taken on some cooking - on this occasion Brownies -

and Lachlan is extending the range of his art work.

James is Eighteen

James is eighteen and as a result of the current Covid 19 crisis, he has had to have his birthday in isolation.  To our delight we were able to have a video hookup with him and Kate has been able to provide us with photos on the day.  We wish him all the best for the year and for his new job that starts today.  Sadly for him, his License Test was cancelled as a result of the crisis so has to be rescheduled.

Interesting Outcomes

One of the features of the current Corona Virus Pandemic is that there have been a range of unintended, or perhaps unexpected outcomes.  One of these has been that Adam built a Vege Patch.

Gecko Emerges

The gecko we purchased in Coffs Harbour about eight months ago has been hibernating in the garage since arriving.  His isolated existence finally drove him up the wall.
