Time Moves On

We have just had an Anniversary!. It has now been two years since we left our home at Efron Street.
We transitioned to the rear Unit at Luckie Street while waiting for the old original house to be replaced by our new home.

Rapid Progress

Our confinement during the Corona Crisis has enabled the rapid progress of the Family History Project.  Claire is now dealing with the last few Chapters before we start looking at options for publishing.

Variety in the Streets

Wandering the streets in this cooler weather always seems to present something different.

Lachy the Artist

Lachlan has spent a lot of time developing his skills as an artist on the computer.  We have watched as his drawings become more complex and varied.  His latest creation of Commander Cody (using MS Paint and a mouse) is the best yet.

Doing Dinner

The Garnett crew were over for dinner last night.  With school starting again in a couple of days there was a sense of anticipation and relief looking at the coming week.  It will be interesting to see how things change.

Ebony's Sixteenth

Granny's Gallery has been a bit out of date recently with the Covid Carry On, however that was rectified yesterday when Ebony visited for her (slightly late) birthday portrait.  We are now back on track.

Isolation Ending

Jack, Cooper and Lachlan are making the best of their last few days of isolation with the return to school imminent.
Jack has moved rooms.
He has also tried a little cooking with great results.
Cooper has been using his new computer setup.
and Lachlan has reorganised his (new) room giving him more space for his pictures.

Family Historian Flying

Claire has been flying through the data bases of late and has made great progress with the Reid Thorp Family History.  While she spends plenty of time in her favourite location, it will see much less of her once we can travel again!

Finding Family

The Covid crisis has provided one benefit, family history research has moved on apace. Claire has discovered a great deal about the Reid (Grandad) and Thorp (Grandma) family lines.  As an interesting sideline we have been able to use Google street view to have a look as some of the ancestral locations.
These homes have been in Scotland such as the 1774 home of George Reid in Ayr.
There were a number of houses in Greenock and Glasgow
Houses on the Isle of Wight.
A house in Wimpole St London where a Thorp ancestor was a doctor,
and houses in Melbourne where the family used to live. For example in Prahran,
and Glen Iris.  Loving Google Maps!

Resuming Normal Service

We had dinner with Adam, Kate and the family on Sunday evening and yesterday Terry and Tricia were over for lunch.  Things are getting much better as the restrictions are gradually eased.
