Jack Captains His Team

It was the first match of the season on Sunday and Jack was Captain for the Day.

Jack worked hard in a number of positions during the match.

He scored a point early in the match and then late in the match he took a mark a little out from goal. He then lined up and put the ball through for a great Captain's goal.

Although there was no official scoring, most of the observers gave the match to his team.

It was a fantastic start to the season for Jack -

and his family.

Cooper and Lachlan's Birthdays

Cooper and Lachlan insist on having their birthdays during the school holidays. Getting a family party together in the holidays is always an interesting exercise.  On this occasion, Lisa and Justin were back from Adelaide, Adam and Kate were just back from Sydney and Brett and Cathy were just back from Sydney and Jamberoo.

So dinner was on.

Presents were given and the Candle Ceremony was performed. It all came together for a great evening.

Result on the Barbie

Tried the new pizza stone on the barbeque tonight.  We made the base using the dough hook in the mixer and it worked well.  Not the greatest pizza of all time but we are hoping for future improvement.

Lachlan's Birthday

Lachlan had a busy day at the cinema and play centre to celebrate his birthday.  Although his party will be a little later he came over to share a birthday cake with Granny and Pa.

He clearly found the whole thing a little surprising!

Sydney Sojourn

It sounds like the team are having a busy time in Sydney, we have a few photos to show the dogs that their family is OK.

Dogs On Guard

We visited Rosie and Max to see they were performing their duties while their family was in Sydney.  While we were welcomed, they were much more interested in delights on the menu. In fact we were quite superfluous to requirement.

Heading Back

Our last day in Adelaide was miserable so the Art Gallery and Museum were the destinations of choice.  Of course you cannot move far without sustenance so the Food Hall was also an acceptable location.

The animated T-Rex in the Museum is always going to pull a few dollars from the travel kitty.

Lachlan found a mate inside.

That evening, Jack again showed all the adults how to play cards.

It was a wet, cold morning to pack the vans and hit the road for home.

 We came via (a miserable) Ballarat where the boys demolished the last of the Easter M&Ms.

Hahndorf

The trip today was to Hahndorf which was really jumping.  It is a wonderful little town in the Adelaide Hills and when we left there was a massive stream of traffic trying to get into the town.  Go early!
There were plenty of little cafes and eateries. The coffee was good and massive doughnuts were a hit.

 Both Cooper and Lachlan found some puppets to purchase as part of their birthday presents.

There is a relaxed ambiance about the town that makes it well worth a visit.

Easter Camp

Spending a few days in camp gives us the opportunity to try a few of our toys.  We decided to set up the full awning.  It works well.

Cooper had the opportunity to choose his own Birthday Cake.  He went for a double layered chocolate cake that we all enjoyed.

Of course the visit of the Easter Bunny was a welcome event in the camp.  It was clear he had made plenty of calls to the surrounding camps as well.

We are starting to worry about Jack.  We taught him Rickety Kate one night and he has won that and the subsequent game.  We may have to handicap him!

Cooper's Birthday

It is Cooper's birthday today so it was an early start to watch him open his presents.

The advantage of our new location is that the beach is about 100 metres away.  Cooper was able to add to his rock collection.

As Easter is on the way a few early Easter Eggs helped keep the energy up.

We are starting to wear of the voice shifting megaphone already.  It could be a long day!
