Publication Completed

It was to have been a longer term project but the Covid crisis meant we had a little more time at home than we planned.  As a result the Reid Thorp Family history was compiled and published.  It was a monumental task bringing together all the disparate information from so many sources into a relatively coherent final product.  So we now have a complement to the Kervin Nelson history as a reference for our children and grandchildren.

Fifty One Today!!

Fifty one years ago today Claire and I were married in the Congregational Church at Leitchville.

As an appropriate celebration, we headed off to the cinema (first time in 7 months) to see a film about two old farmers.  They were old in the sense that they were slightly younger than us!  It was just as well we arrived early enough to get a reasonable seat.
We followed up with lunch.  It is evident that lunch far outweighs the cinema in the popularity stakes in the Melbourne population.
Everyone was out and about and enjoying the freedom and the good weather.  We were no exception.  The Dumplings will see us through the rest of the day.

End of the School Year

Despite Covid induced delays, Cooper and Lachlan managed to get their school photos taken before the end of the year.

Holly's Thirteenth

While Holly and her family were over for dinner, we took the opportunity to add the updated photo to Granny's Gallery.

Dinner With Family

It is such a joy to again have the family able to visit for a meal.  Brett, Cathy, Mitchell, Ebony and Holly shared a meal last night.  It was great to have the opportunity for a catchup once again.

Clash of the Titans

The scene was set for an epic battle as the great powers assembled around the Mediterranean for a fight to the death.

The day was filled with drama as battles were fought, won and lost. The power of empires rose and fell as battles, social upheaval and natural disasters all took their toll.
I am unable to say that I covered myself in glory as I drove the great empire of Italy into oblivion with a miserable last!  Maybe next time?

My Morning Mates

As I head out for my morning walk, four magpies usually swoop down to greet me and demand a feed.  If I am not fast enough they sing at me!

Big Night Out

In another sign of easing restrictions Lisa and Mark had an evening work function in the city.  This gave us the opportunity for some photos.

It also provided the opportunity to provide Jack and Lachlan with some quality sustenance.

Back to the Bush

We are now able to travel relatively unencumbered, so on Thursday we headed for Echuca to see Noel, Pam and Greg. It took a while to get used to the fact that we were on the road again after seven months.

We were even able to cross the border to go to the Moama Bowling Club for lunch.

After lunch we went to visit Greg, who we found to be in good spirits despite his situation.  Following the visit we headed for home.  It made for a long day so we may change that on future visits.

Resumption of Normal Services!!

With the further easing of restrictions on social gatherings, it has now become possible to have family dinners once again.  Lisa called the first Post Covid Dinner yesterday and there was a real sense of release as we were all able to meet up again.

The BBQ was running hot with two chefs on the job -

so we had a very relaxed and delicious dinner together to signal the post pandemic era.  The after dinner entertainment was provided by newbies attempting to master swordsmanship using Lachlan's new virtual reality headset.
