Sophie's Turning Ten
It is not her birthday yet but Sophie had her party early. Sophie enjoys her sport so the party was never going to be one where the girls sat around. They were all a little excited to have it in a Sports Centre with the attraction being Bubble Soccer.
After arrival there was some instruction on the rules of the games and then they were into a Netball-Basketball hybrid.
That was followed by Bubble Soccer
Once the girls were totally exhausted, the serious business of party food consumption followed.
Followed by the Cake to end a very successful afternoon.

Basketball - Jack
We saw Jack in action with his new team and James as his new coach today. Jack had a good day scoring most of the team goals but the opposition was really good and experienced and it showed as some of Jack's team were playing their first season.
Best part for Jack was that he was playing with friends including his best mates Clay and Levi.

Coach James
Jack's new basketball team needed a coach and James stepped into the vacancy. Today we had the opportunity to see the new combination in action. James has it all under control.
He easily managed the warm ups and the interchanges.
The boys all paid attention as he was instructing them. What a great way to develop leadership skills!

James' New Season - A Flying Start
The basketball season has started for James. He and his friends have taken an idiosyncratic approach. They have formed a team but there is no manager and no Coach and no training session. They do their own interchanges and so far, they have been murdering the opposition. Tonight it was something like 60 to 16. They are a joy to watch as they are all fast and skillful and play the game without even a hint of histrionics.
Poor 92 thought he had the ball but James flicked it around his back and charged into the goal.

Patterson Lakes
With Graeme and Rhondda down from Sydney we had a chance to catch up with the Richardson Clan for lunch. The chosen venue was The Cove Hotel in Patterson Lakes. It was an interesting building with parking for cars on one side and parking for boats on the other. Food was generally good with the exception of the Caesar Salad which gets a big thumbs down. Best part - meeting old friends again!

Whitehorse Spring Festival
The weather was perfect for the Spring Festival today so we spent some time wandering the myriad of exhibits and vendors. We naturally gravitated toward those with greatest intrinsic interest. Claire and Rhondda are thinking of taking out membership.
You could get any sort of food you liked from the stalls. We decided that Sri Lankan was the way to go as none of us had tried it.
Even though the Chef held back on the spices, a gelato was urgently required at the end of the meal.

Into the Dandenongs
With the Inchleys down for a visit, we took the opportunity to catch up with Kaye and Ian who have come back from central NSW to live in Victoria. They are currently living in Gembrook while looking for a place to purchase or build in the area.
They are on a small farm with goats, chickens, alpacas sheep and cows in the surrounding area so they have not been too enclosed moving back to the city.
We headed up to the Australian Rhododendron Garden for lunch.
Then headed off for a walk around the massive and beautiful gardens. They are currently moving toward their best and should be fantastic in a couple of weeks.
