Cooper's team were playing with only 5 this week and then they lost another just before the game so they had to play with only 4 against the other team's 7. It did not seem to daunt them as they came home with a win 31 to 23 with some of the best teamwork we have seen.

Mothers' Day
We caught up with the family over the Mothers' Day period. Brett, Cathy, Mitchell, Ebony and Holly came over with Lisa and Jack for afternoon tea. Cooper and Mark were in Queensland and Lachlan was home sick.
Adam and Kate were at Ocean Grove so Adam took Claire to Lunch on Monday. No need for dinner that night!Huge Aurora Activity
As we move from a period of low sunspot activity to a solar maximum there was a huge mass ejection of material from the sun last week, the biggest in 20 years, and it caused aurora activity all over the world. It was visible in Melbourne if you could find dark skies like over the Bay. As a kid, I remember seeing an aurora from our house in Glen Iris as light pollution levels were very low at that time.

Cooper Goes Fishing
For Cooper's birthday, Mark took him to Cairns to do some fishing on the reef. They had a two day window hoping the weather would hold.
The Great Bread Challenge
I have always been interested in bread making and since getting rid of the bread maker, the challenge has been to do it conventionally. The next attempt (after a little YouTubing) turned out better and I am happier with the taste.

The Final Chapter
Many years ago, my father obtained a couple of slabs of Queensland mahogany timber thinking he may do a little more wood turning in future. It never happened and I inherited the timber. It was way too valuable to destroy so I was relieved to come in contact with the brother of a friend who turned wood. Of course he was overjoyed to receive these pieces that are now almost unobtainable and he turned a bowl for us in thanks.
Australian Museum of Photography
Since hearing there had been a Museum of Photography established in the Monash Council Library building I had been keen to take a look and we did so today. We found the presentation underwhelming. Five artists were represented. A couple exhibited absolutely no creative or photographic talent. A couple employed the components of photography to present a creative canvas (not necessarily an image) and one had used a drone to photograph mining sites from above. The 5 huge images were of more geometric than photographic interest and one would have been entirely sufficient. My summary - 2/10 could be a lot better with more considered selection of artists and images.

Movement at The Lake House
With assistance from Cooper, Mark erected scaffolding on the east side to give access to the high windows.
