From the outset, it has to be said that James had a GREAT day on the field, despite the fact that it was a rotten day. Spectators were confined to barracks
but the players did not seem to notice the weather. James was picking up kicks around the ground -
and driving the opposition crazy sticking to them like glue -
and kicking goals out of the middle of packs. He kicked 2 goals in the first half.
At half time the Team had kicked over 40 points and Lysterfield had only managed 1 goal just before the siren so the mood was very positive in the rooms at half time.
Because the boys were doing so well, the Coach decided to rest James and a couple of other strong players at the start of the second half but Lysterfield added a couple of quick goals and the game moved to their end. After 12 minutes James was back on the ground and the play suddenly moved back to the Jets end.
James added another goal and a point to his tally.
He left the ground after a fantastic performance and was recognised as "Player of the Week" by the coaching staff. You cannot do better than that!
