James Back On The Ground

It has been a while since we have seen James play football and he was back today after the rib injury a few weeks ago.
Following a few weeks off, it was good that there were a few on the bench so the players could be rotated so he got a couple of breathers during the match.  The opposition was not causing them too much trouble so the Jets could afford to rest some of the better players.
James still likes to get up close and personal with the opposition.
These boys are now bigger and faster so Adam gets a thorough workout on the boundary during the match.

Jack's Jets

Jack has had a big football weekend.  He took Justin to the Richmond Essendon game last night to watch a close Richmond victory, then had to play this morning.  It was a tough ask but he did well.
The promised rain and hail held off and they came off winners.  What more could you ask?

James' New Team

For a variety of reasons we have been unable to see James with his new Celtics Basketball team this season.  This was rectified today.  WOW! things have changed! This team is at a whole new level so it was an exciting game to watch as they were playing a team who were equally skilled.
They were ahead early then the lead swapped a few times but the game finished with the Celtics losing by 1 point in the final few seconds.  The team and the supporters came away exhausted.

Ebony Fires Again

Another "Best On Ground" performance from Ebony helped her team crush the opposition with a 14 to 3 win.
They had a massive 3rd quarter during which Ebony scored at least 4 goals.  At the start of the season Ebony was unsure of the team's prospects but they are a potent little unit now.  Great game!

Cooper's New Pic

It has taken a while for the stars to align but we finally got Cooper's photo for Granny's Gallery.

End of an Era

It is with great regret we announce the final demise of an old warrior that has done more than could reasonably be expected of it over the past 10 years.  Overloaded and overworked it finally died over the weekend while attempting to do it's duty. It's final act was to bow in submission to the power of the Amarok.

Overnight Camp

We arrived at Toolangi around 4 pm but with winter approaching, the light was fading fast.  First things first - the fire was started and the accommodation erected.
We really needed a good fire on such a freezing night.  The towering inferno kept us warm and cooked some great snags.
The cold night was followed by an equally cold morning.  Apparently the new swags were a great success being warm and comfortable. They even resulted in some sleeping in!
The Master Chef was soon on the job with bacon and eggs for breakfast all round.  A hearty breakfast and a good strong coffee is all that one needs in the morning.
The equipment list and processes are already being edited for the next adventure.

Basketball - Pat

Pat had his work cut out on Saturday when the Vikings played Collingwood.  He got plenty of attention as one of the danger players on his team.
Much of his time was spent moving the ball back to the Viking's end.
Pat scored 6 of the team's 16 points but it was not enough to overcome Collingwood.  They went down fighting and Pat had a good game.  Granny was happy with him!

The New Arrival

Adam and Kate have welcomed a new addition to the family. They will certainly be traveling in comfort. Talk about bells and whistles - the only thing it doesn't do is brew coffee.

Morning Colour

Morning walks are full of interest with the autumn colours and the sun rising a little later.

Lights of His Life!

Adam just purchased some new lights and the great thing is that they have a car attached!

Birthdays Finalised

We found a few hours today for Cooper and Jack to finish off Granny and Pa's birthday presents.
Cooper was clear on the requirements and we had his Lego and a box of chocolates in no time.  Shopping is a difficult business so a milk shake helped regain the energy levels
He looked pleased with his final haul.
By the time we had done some shopping with Jack he had already assembled some of his Lego.
Jack also had a clear view of his requirements.  We looked around for a while, boosted the energy levels with KFC -
but his heart was set on footy cards.
LOTS of them!  Now for the sorting and swaping.

Basketball - Patrick

Patrick  and his team had one of those days today.  As they are still in the qualifying rounds, they had had a big win last week and been bumped up but this week they came up against some big boys in the Land of the Giants.
Pat spent some his time on court bouncing off this big No 30
I think the boys would have more fun if the teams were more evenly matched.  Biting the oppositions ankles is not the way to go.

Progress on the Camper

The Amarok now has its canopy and bull bar.  There is excitement amongst the troops!

Autumn Colour

The seasons are clearly changing and the morning walks are getting colourful.

Jack's Ninth.

Having a birthday brings on the responsibility of providing Granny with a photo for her gallery. This is the winner from yesterday's photo session.

Jack's Birthday

The family met up last night to celebrate Jack's ninth birthday and to indulge in a little overeating.  The barbeque was cranked up, salads and sausage rolls provided and we had a great mix of food and no one left hungry.
Then it was up to Jack.  He performed his duties with distinction.
