We took a tourist trip along the river that snakes through the middle of Brisbane. Brisbane is built around and on the flood plain of the river.
An interesting commentary was provided alongside a Devonshire Tea. Unfortunately some of the beautiful old buildings have been crowded out by massive high rise development along the river. As so much of Brisbane is close to the river, the public transport network includes an extensive fleet of catamarans that move people up and down the river. We went for lunch at the historic Breakfast Creek Hotel built in 1896.After a wander in the surrounding parkland the boat took us back to the city terminal.
