Cradle Mountain

In the middle of Tasmania is the astonishingly beautiful Cradle Mountain National Park.  We were lucky to visit on one of the 50 or so days of the year when the mountain was not under cloud.

We were able to walk down and see the reflections in Dove Lake and finally see how the name came about with the baby visible in the cradle between the peaks.  A rough wooden chalet built by Waldheim (who was responsible for preserving the area as a National Park) is preserved in the park.
