Canberra residents are well served with recreational facilities and open space. The Jerrabomberra wetlands on the east side of Lake Burley Griffin was our first port of call. Viewing "hides" were plentiful and there were a range of walking paths and boardwalks.
Of course there are some amazing public buildings in Canberra and we took the opportunity to see the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. The Gallery had a display of burial poles very like the one we purchased in Borroloola in 1979In the Portrait Gallery Claire found a protrait of one of her favourite people Quentin Bryce along with many others
Of course we always need a photo of the High Court Building.
