James (Australian Ambassador to Canada) has been recalled and is due back in the country on Friday. It would appear he has been having too much of a good time over the Halloween period at the Queens Uni street parties. He also appears to have lost his horse.

Travel Records
We are at the point of having our travel photos all in place so we can show them on our display screen. Turns out we have over 30,000 photos. This prompted Claire to trace our Australian travels on a map.
I Want To See That
The Museum recently acquired an almost complete Triceratops skeleton that is now on display. Cooper beat me in to see it.
Old Friends
Claire went through school with Lesley who now lives in Canberra so they always value the opportunity for a catchup. This time they brought Carolyn along (centre) so they could regale her with tales of misspent youth.

Getting Back To Normal
Adam and Kate had a busy weekend. The family was doing a range of interesting things but on top of that a long (Covid) delayed wedding was finally taking place. Time for the finery!
Maintaining Traditions
Even though James and Angel are in Canada it is good to see they are checking out the local wineries as they travel Montreal.
Spring Festival
The Whitehorse Council has run a Spring Fair for many years (excluding Covid years) with fun for kids, food franchises and stands for community groups. This year it was to be held in Tunstall Park 300m down the road from us. Despite the threatening weather, it went ahead and the rain held off although the ground was somewhat muddy, thousands of people poured into the park all day.
Bandanna
Pat took time off from study to play with his band "Bandanna" at the School Festival. It was a very professional performance with a variety of music. Could be a great future side hustle!

This Is Getting Weird
When my parents were married (1942) cameras and lenses were way more primitive than today. Their wedding photos were good for the day.

Now That's Interesting
As we approach our dotage, the idea of having some mechanism to light our path to the bins becomes more attractive. We had tried solar lights but, in the past, they were feeble at best. We got some new ones to replace a couple that had died and the difference was dramatic. The newer versions produce a very useful light.

Patrick's Celebration Evening
Patrick is at the end of his secondary education and we were privileged to be able to attend his Celebration Evening. He was on stage early warming up the crowd with his band.
It was an evening celebrating student achievement throughout the year including some extraordinary musical and performance routines.Patrick was singled out for the Chemistry Award and the Parents' Group Award for community service.James and the Canadian Way
Angel is introducing James to some Canadian Cultural icons. Pumpkin carving -

World Traveler
James and Angel are now in Quebec and have spent time in the ski town of Mont Tremblant. It doesn't look as though they will get much skiing done but at least they are escaping the floods and deluges in Melbourne.

Basketball - Cooper
Cooper and his team were up against it in their last match. It's a new season and the opposition had some big players. We had to miss the second half so we hope it went well!
Basketball - Jack
It's a new season and Jack's team of school mates had moved into the Under 18s so we were under the impression that the match would be a challenge. Not so much! They cruised to victory.

Niagara
James and Angel at Niagara Falls. I guess by now he is wishing he could get back on the tools at construction sites.
Construction Begins
Weather is really messing with the construction schedule of the Lake House however a start has been made. Holes have been drilled for the posts of the retaining wall.
Canada Calling
We came home from our trip north just in time to catch up with James before he flew off to Canada to meet up with Angel. They have an exciting itinerary planned so this is going to be one of those experiences he will remember for a long time.

Lake Boga Catalina Museum
During World War 2 Lake Boga was the home of a fleet of Catalina flying boats that conducted clandestine operations in the South Pacific. The Museum was constructed a few years ago to commemorate this time.
It is surprisingly comprehensive with all sorts of historical memorabilia and information.
