On our way to Cameron's Corner we called in at Tibooburra for lunch.
Sturt the explorer traveled through the place dragging this boat on his way north in the expectation of finding the Inland Sea. Camels would have been a better option. While there, we managed to find proof of Claire's relative, Hugh Robertson owning the Family Hotel in the town. It had been a family story but now we have evidence. We continued on to the remote settlement of Fort Grey built close to a lake in the arid landscape.
Even though there had been a lot of rain the level of the lake appeared low. As proof of the hostility of this environment, we saw the remains of the house that had been built many metres above the waterline. At one time the lake had filled, engulfed the house and the waves had destroyed the sandstone walls of the house.
