The Tour Begins

Our tour headed north with the first stop at Milparinka, an abandoned gold mining settlement.  The only working building was the Pub (of course) but work was being done to maintain the remaining buildings.

It was once a thriving community with a number of pubs, a courthouse and police house and lockup

and a number of banks.

It was clear from the quality of the original stonework that the original residents expected the place to have a prosperous future.
