Urunga

We travelled east over the relatively lush New England countryside

and spent a night in Armidale (Australia's highest city at 1000m) then started dropping down to the coast from Dorrigo.  The trip became a little scary at this stage with thick mist on the very steep and winding roads down the side of the mountains.
At Urunga we set up camp in a crowded park on the banks of the Kalang and the Bellinger River to meet up with the Inchleys and the Ritchies.

Now its not that Urunga is small but some of the facilities are compact.  The coach terminal manages to incorporate arrivals, departures, check-in and luggage all in the one building.
If you take the train to Urunga you need to sit in the last carriage as it is the only one that stops at the station.
