Into Western Australia

Near Eucla, we visited the remains of one of the old telegraph stations that were used for communication between the east and west of Australia.  They have now been replaced by solar powered repeaters but they were quite an investment in their time.  All made of large sandstone blocks with a number of rooms and outbuildings which are now being reclaimed by the sand.
Then it was a long drive across the huge flat plain of the Nullarbor.  When we finally reached a hill a photo was required looking back over the plain.
On Easter Sunday, the overnight stay was at a bush camp overlooking a dry salt pan.  It might not sound great but it had a (dessicated) beauty and grandeur all  of its own.
The Easter Bunny still found us in this remote setting!
Monday was Lachlan's birthday and in the morning he got his special presents before we set off for Coolgardie where we intend to stay a few nights and see the local sights around Kalgoolie.
Once we had set up camp, Lisa produced the birthday cake for this special occasion.
